Auto-Farming

Create, fuel, upgrade, and manage automatic crop and tree farms.

What is Auto-Farming?

Auto-farming is a SkyMata feature that lets you automatically farm crops and trees. You can purchase an auto-farm in /shop.

Making Your First Crop or Tree Farm

Place the auto-farm where you want the center of the farm to be. A new farm begins with a small farming area around the farmer and can be upgraded later.

Plant the supported crop or tree type inside the farm's working area. Interact with the farmer to open its management menu, where you can see storage, upgrades, permissions, and fuel.

To remove an auto-farm, use the removal interaction described by the in-game menu (the source guide shows sneaking/breaking the farmer for removal).

Storage

Harvested items are collected into the auto-farm's storage. Open the farmer's management menu to view and remove the items it has collected.

Upgrades

Auto-farms can be upgraded to improve their operation. The source guide describes upgrades for:

  • Growth interval — reduces the time between farming actions.
  • Farm radius — increases the working area from the starting 3×3 area up to a much larger area, with the guide showing upgrades through 13×13.
  • Storage — increases the number of storage slots, with the guide showing progression from 9 slots up to 108.

Fuel

You need to fuel an auto-farm for it to function. Open the Fuel option inside the upgrades and management menu to add fuel from your inventory.

The fuel menu also contains a coal icon that shows which blocks and items can be used as fuel and how much operating time they provide.

Sharing an Auto-Farm

The management menu can be used to trust other players so they can help manage the farm. The source guide also describes promoting trusted players with shift-click and removing/untrusting them with the menu controls.
