What Are Upgradeable Hoppers?
Upgradeable Hoppers are enhanced hoppers with additional features for redstone and farming. Their suction radius can be increased, they can auto-sort/filter items, they can be configured to delete selected items, and they can link to multiple chests.
Where Can I Get One?
The source guide lists other players, /shop, and the Auction House as ways to obtain an Upgradeable Hopper.
Setting Up Your First Hopper
Place the hopper down. Left-click it to open the hopper management menu and right-click it to view the hopper's contents.
By default, the hopper begins collecting in a 2-block radius.
The management menu lets you upgrade stats including:
- Suction radius
- Transfer amount
- Maximum link distance
- Maximum number of links
Left-click the relevant upgrade icon to purchase/advance that stat when you meet the requirements.
Hopper Links and Sorting
After you’ve upgraded to your preferences you can begin to setup the hopper links. Links are chests that are connected to your hopper that will receive the items it collects. To make your first link make sure to place down a chest and open your hopper menu by left-clicking.
Select the link to containers icon on the bottom row. After you’ve left-clicked the icon you can leave the hopper menu and left-click the chest you would like to link to your hopper. Once you have successfully linked the chest you will receive a message saying “This chest is linked!”. To edit the filters on your links you can select the links icon.
If you have a link already you will see a chest in this next screen. If there is no chest please go back a step and make sure to setup a link first.
Left-click the chest to manage the filter so you can select which items are sorted into this chest. At the bottom of the menu you can toggle whether you are blacklisting items or whitelisting items. Blacklisting is what items it ignores from picking up. Whitelist is the only items it will pickup. After you have selected which mode you prefer you can click items in your inventory that you would like to add to your whitelist or blacklist. To remove an item you can simply click it in the menu to delete it from your list.
You can also enable or disable strict filtering. This simply will decide if it will allow any version of an item or if it must be the exact item.
You can also copy and paste your filter settings and mode to other links after you’ve completed your first one. This will save time and make it a bit easier.
Important Info
By default you can access 5 hoppers and link each of them to 5 chests. You can check our ranks section to see how to earn access to more hoppers.
To remove a hopper simply crouch-left-click to remove it.
